B.C. health authorities are now motivating all British Columbians 5 years of age and older to get a COVID-19 booster shot.

This comes as the province gets ready for a rise in COVID-19 cases in November and December linked to the breathing health problem season. Beginning today, the Moderna bivalent vaccine will begin getting here in the province. The Health Canada-approved vaccine has a higher impact versus the Omicron variation of COVID-19

“It is vaccination that has actually permitted us to get to this point. It has actually indicated we no longer require those limiting steps,” B.C. provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry stated Tuesday.

“The level of resistance through infection and vaccination has actually been a video game changer.”

The province will need a minimum of a six-month space in between booster dosages, consisting of both 3rd and 4th shots.
