Earlier in March, Tesla needed to stop production at the factory for 2 days due to COVID screening.
The overall and partial shutdowns for Tesla Shanghai and providers will make it challenging to identify if Tesla is outshining in Q1 (Jan, Feb, March) production with an abundance of batteries.
Another 1 day Tesla Shanghai shutdown and partial COVID shutdowns for last 3 days of the month. We do not get a great read of what is occurring with extra Tesla Shanghai ramp. With the shutdowns anything over 180 k for Shanghai and over 330 k for the quarter is favorable. Prior to this newest shutdown and simply the 2 day previously shtudown, I would have stated 338 k+ and 186 k for Shanghai was respectable. There is still a possible 8+ k surprise. It will be much easier to see in April or May if Tesla China’s month-to-month production presses to 75 k+ to see if the reports of 90-95 k regular monthly production capability hold true.
