Episode 1: It’s Up to You– T’áá hwó’ ají t’ éego

Travel to the forests outside the Grand Canyon to follow Dr. Sophina Calderón and other Navajo Nation leaders as covid-19 checks the Diné individuals.

Roughly 30%of the houses on the Navajo Nation depend on wood-burning ranges for heat. A number of those families carry wood from close-by forests. That’s what Calderón was doing when she understood the pandemic’s reach would not stop at the medical facility– it was going to produce a heating crisis too.

This episode checks out origin behind why some people of the Navajo Nation do not have access to electrical energy and other facilities, and how so-called social factors of health made the Diné so susceptible to the very first rises of the pandemic.
