Germany, Hungary and Slovakia each started giving out their very first COVID-19 vaccine shots on Saturday, just hours after getting the first deliveries, a day ahead of the European Union’s (EU) main vaccine rollout.

In Hungary, health-care employees were the first immunized in Budapest, while in Slovakia, it was a leading specialist on transmittable disease and member of the federal government’s pandemic commission, Vladimir Krcmery, who received the first shot. Krcmery stated it felt “even less than when a mosquito bites you.”
Germany took a different position on the rollout, with a retirement home citizen being the first individual to be immunized in Sachsen-Anhalt.

The first deliveries of the vaccine arrived at health centers throughout the EU late Friday and early Saturday, marking a minute of expect an area that includes some of the world’s earliest and worst-hit infection areas, such as Italy and Spain.
