Youth 'at Greater Danger of Spreading Out Coronavirus'

Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency chief Jung Eun-kyeong cautioned Monday that young people are at greater risk of spreading out coronavirus.

Jung was referring to a study of 6,859 Army boot camp students in September and October, the majority of whom remain in their early 20 s, which showed that 15 of them had actually COVID-19 antibodies.

That would equate into a percentage of 0.22 percent or three times greater than the quote for the total Korean population. They were compared to a control group of 1,379 individuals of any ages.

Leaving Out 10 who had already recovered from COVID-19, 15 had the antibodies, but in the control group just one person or 0.07 percent had antibodies– leaving out two who had actually already evaluated positive for the infection and recuperated.

That indicates the 15 were “hidden” providers because they did not realize they had the virus and recuperated without getting checked and treated.

” More youthful individuals tend to reveal milder symptoms and typically do not get tested, and there is a likelihood that they might be calmly spreading the infection,” Jung said. “Many infections have been reported in personal crammers and universities. We will hold talks with the Ministry of Education and expand online classes and strengthen assessments of study hall and other events of young people.”

Since Monday, the transmission path of 11.8 percent of new cases remains a mystery.

” We have accumulated cases in a research study over the past 10 months. The cases that are asymptomatic or reveal only small signs have become more widespread, while little groups of infections continue to spread across the nation,” Jung stated.

Meanwhile, the daily tally of new cases soared to 349 as of Tuesday morning, just a day after falling below 300.
