The Wisconsin Badgers have now canceled a game for a 2nd consecutive week, as a coronavirus break out within the program continues to put their season in jeopardy.

Presently, 15 players and 12 personnel have checked positive for the illness since October 24 th. The group is not practicing or taking part in any football-related activities in the middle of the outbreak.

” I share in the dissatisfaction of our student-athletes and personnel,” Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez stated.

” We have seen a level of enhancement in our screening numbers, however insufficient to offer us self-confidence to resume typical activities and play our video game on Saturday,” Alvarez described.

Big 10 guidelines need infected gamers and staff to separate form the team for 21 days prior to they can return.

According to the Hill:

The Huge 10 is playing a condensed eight-game routine season format. Due to its canceled match-ups that can not be scheduled, Wisconsin needs to play the rest of its games this season to be qualified to contend in the Big 10 National championship.

If other teams cancel more video games, the conference apparently may use a rounded typical number of games played per group to change the minimum rule.

Reports show that the Badgers starting quarterback and head coach are among those infected.
