National Institute of Allergic Reaction and Infectious Illness director Dr. Anthony Fauci stated Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that the Supreme Court judgment that religious gatherings can not be restricted in New York State was a “substantial threat for acquisition and spread” of the coronavirus pandemic.
Visitor host Martha Raddatz stated, “The Supreme Court overruled New York’s COVID limitations on religious gatherings in the state. How worried are you about legal challenges to pandemic restrictions going forward?”
Fauci said, “They occur, Martha. I just keep stating when people ask me for opinions on specific things, rather than comment on particular things, I can state it does not matter who you are or where you are when you have gather settings, especially indoors when people are not wearing masks that is a considerable danger for acquisition and spread of infection.
