President Trump’s previously set up project events will all be virtual or delayed as Election Day nears, after he and the first lady evaluated favorable for the coronavirus, the campaign announced Friday.

Driving the news: A flurry of positive COVID-19 test outcomes were launched by the White House and surrounding political leaders on Friday, after Trump and Melania Trump said they tested positive.

What they’re saying: “ All previously announced campaign events including the President’s involvement are in the process of being relocated to virtual occasions or are being temporarily held off,” campaign manager Expense Stepien stated in a statement

  • Events involving members of the Trump family will be held off, Stepien added. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner evaluated negative on Friday, as the very first woman stated she was experiencing “moderate symptoms.”
  • ” All other campaign events will be thought about on a case-by-case basis,” he said.

Vice President Mike Pence, who has evaluated negative, will remain on the project path, Stepien stated. Pence’s doctor said he “does not need to quarantine” in a White Home statement on Friday, which the vice president “is ruled out a close contact with any people who have actually evaluated positive for COVID,” consisting of Trump.

Of note: The campaign did not instantly respond to an ask for information on for how long Trump would only participate in virtual events.
