The city board has the power to fine organizations up to ₤10,000 but stated it picked a smaller fine because it was the very first offence for both restaurants.

Councillor Louise Upton, Cabinet Member for a Much Safer, Healthy Oxford, said: “Our Covid Secure Group has actually been out and about throughout Oxford for numerous weeks and the huge bulk of businesses are complying with the brand-new rules.

” We have actually been especially impressed with the bars and bars in the city centre, a number of which have gone above and beyond to guarantee the safety of their personnel and consumers.

” However any companies that break the coronavirus guidelines are irresponsibly making the city less safe for everyone, and they need to understand that we will act against them.

” I would like to thank the members of the general public who reported KFC Cowley Road and Bodrum to us, and encourage anyone who has concerns about a business in Oxford not adhering to coronavirus guidelines to call us.”.
