Harris Opens Debate by Labeling Trump's COVID Action 'Biggest Failure' of any Administration in History

Democratic vice governmental nominee Kamala Harris called the Trump administration’s coronavirus reaction “ the greatest failure” of any governmental administration in U.S. history Wednesday night, and accused the administration of hiding the seriousness of the infection early on in the pandemic.
Throughout the first and only vice governmental debate, the California Senator charged that President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence had been warned of the unsafe nature of the infection on January 28 and knowingly misinformed the general public in minimizing the infection till March13
” On January 28 the vice president and president were informed about the nature of this pandemic,” she stated. “They were notified that it’s lethal in consequence, that it is airborne, that it will impact youths and that it would be contracted because it is air-borne.”
” They knew what was taking place and they didn’t tell you,” she added. “Can you envision if you knew on January 28 rather than March 13 what they knew? What you might have done to prepare?”
She went on to say the administration “knew and they covered it up,” and criticized President Trump for calling the infection a scam and lessening its seriousness.
” In spite of all of that today they still do not have a plan,” she said.
According to a book on the Trump presidency by Bob Woodward, the Washington Post associate editor of “Watergate” fame, President Trump acknowledged in February that the infection was extremely infectious and “more lethal than even your strenuous flus.”
” You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump reportedly stated in a February 7 interview with Woodward. “And so that’s a very challenging one. That’s a really delicate one. It’s likewise more fatal than even your difficult flu.”
” This is deadly things,” Trump added.
The president said in another interview in March that he had wanted to publicly minimize the risk of the virus to avoid developing “panic,” Woodward stated.
” I wanted to always play it down,” Trump supposedly informed Woodward.
