Federal government ministers are satisfying to discuss whether or not to accept a recommendation to relocate to a 2nd lockdown.
Their meeting got underway around 3.00 pm on Saturday.
The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan, Dr Ronan Glynn and Professor Philip Nolan will make a presentation to the senior ministers this afternoon.
They will then take concerns from them, prior to the three party leaders – Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and Green Celebration leader Eamon Ryan – as well as the Ministers for Health, Finance and Public Expenditure will meet independently to consider whether to accept that suggestion of relocating to level five.
Speaking as he came to Federal government Buildings, Mr Ryan said he would listen to the specialists – however that the break out had “stabilised” in several counties.

Other choices on the table include moving the whole nation up to level 4, or leaving the current level three constraints unchanged and seeing how they play out over the next couple of days.
Federal government sources state it is unlikely a full Cabinet meeting will be called this evening.
This puts question marks over the timeline of when a choice will be made.
Nevertheless they stress they do not wish to be hurried into it, offered the impact it will have on larger society and the fact that hundreds of thousands of jobs would be lost overnight if they decided to go to level five.
