Clare main school shuts over close contacts of a COVID-19 case

A primary school in Co Clare has shut due to the fact that some staff members are thought about close contacts of a case of COVID-19

The Department of Health has stated it does not talk about private cases.

However in a declaration, it stated: “There will be cases of COVID-19 among children and in school settings over the coming days and weeks, as there have been throughout this pandemic to date.

” In case of verified COVID-19 cases in school settings, public health teams in the HSE will respond and communicate carefully with the school involved and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to safeguard trainees and school staff”.

It comes after a second Dublin primary school validated a case of the infection on Wednesday and sent a variety of students house.

The child in Dublin was detected on Tuesday and was sent out house together with a variety of schoolmates and everybody they had remained in close contact with.

The kids have been asked to remain in your home and will continue to receive lessons through remote learning up until they are tested and permitted to return to class.

The rest of the school is “continuing in full operation” and officials are using the school principal and management “every possible assistance and help.”

It follows a whole class of trainees was sent home from another school in the capital on Tuesday.

The Dublin & DĂșn Laoghaire Education & Training Board said its “continuing priority is to support the health and wellbeing of the school community and to make sure the connection of mentor and learning for the students and teachers of the school.”
