New Delhi, Sep 07: The existence of antibodies shows previous exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 virus but may not always equate into security versus the disease, state researchers, pointing out imponderables such as what kind of antibodies, how numerous and how long they last.
There are neutralising antibodies (nAbs) and also “easy” antibodies.
” Easy existence of antibodies is a clear sign of previous exposure to SARS-CoV2 but does not necessarily ensure security from the illness in the absence of neutralising antibodies,” the immunologist included.
