After clinging to expect a socially distanced September festival, the 2020 Together At Last Music Gathering has been cancelled.

So, rather than calling to mind Etta James’ soul-stirring At Last, this year’s celebration will follow suit with many others, echoing Queen’s lamentable Another One Bites the Dust.

” With a heavy heart we must inform you that we won’t be going on with Together at Last 2020,” celebration organizers said in a statement. “We played all the right cards to do this securely and respectfully. Our team together with our thoughtful hosts at Obsidian have actually been prepared and fired up to share this occasion because March.”

Together At Last emerged on the music celebration scene last September, commemorating the development of Obsidian Ridge, just west of Tofield, with a gathering of art, music and community.

The celebration intended to bring individuals, categories and kinds of art together in one place for everyone to take pleasure in on the land, while showcasing an abundance of local skill and featuring international artists. Together At Last’s inaugural lineup included the Jay Gilday Band, the Raygun Cowboys, and the Mad Dogs Experience, among a lot more.

There had been whispers around the Edmonton music scene that organizers were still planning to stage the celebration, in full compliance with Alberta Health Services policies. However, the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases and Alberta’s back-to-school strategies increased uncertainty around the event and the ability to stage it successfully, causing its cancellation.

The complete declaration can be discovered below:

” With an agony of mind we need to notify you that we won’t be going ahead with Together at Last 2020,” festival organizers said in a statement. “We played all the right cards to do this securely and respectfully. Our team in addition to our thoughtful hosts at Obsidian have actually been prepared and excited to share this event given that March.

Never ever in our collective years have we experienced an ever-changing vibrant such as this. This significant shift has affected us all as people, as event promoters and music lovers. This was and is our greatest challenge to date. We pulled out all the stops to adapt, learn and launch our shop event at even its tiniest scale due to the fact that we know how crucial it is to all of us.

Sadly, offered the current state of our country, the distance to the launch of school initiatives in AB and general instructions of our communities, for our cumulative safety it’s best to hold down the fort till it is safe to do so.

With that being said we want to state thank you for your support in a wild world and we will have an extraordinary lineup all set to break into 2021.

So much love my buddies.

From the TAL family, have a safe & beautiful summer season. See you next season. Stay safe.”
