JOHANNESBURG – The Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane provided an update on the status of the province’s COVID-19 containment and mitigation method on Tuesday.

The Health Department recorded 213 new COVID-19 deaths in South Africa, taking the death toll to 10,621

The majority of the most recent fatalities are from the Free State and the Eastern Cape.

There are now 563,598 overall infections in South Africa, while the recovery rate has transferred to 74%.
