A household visit to Guyana turned tragic for a Toronto area man when he was killed in a messed up kidnapping scheme.
Nicholas Ramkissoon Jaipaul, 23, went to the South American nation in January and was stranded there since of COVID-19 travel limitations, according to local media reports.
Now he’s dead.
Local police officers state Jaipul had been sticking with his 86- year-old grandfather in the town of Corentyne Berbice.
However last Sunday night, he vanished.
Detectives questioned 2 maids who worked at his grandpa’s house and one of their boys. Among the boys blamed his bro declaring he was involved in the murder plot, The News Space reports.

Investigators tracked the suspect’s phone and detained him. He apparently confessed to the killing and led officers to Jaipul’s burnt remains in a bushy location.
A relative was able to identify the body due to a surgery the victim had gone through.
Local reports say the slaying was an act of revenge against Jaipul’s grandfather who was engaged in a bitter, continuous land disagreement with a rice farmer determined as the presumed mastermind of the fatal plot– a male known as “Brickhead.”
Jaipul had actually apparently befriended his accused killer who was even in the grandpa’s house the day the Canadian was abducted.
The same suspect is likewise accused of murdering his stepfather a number of years ago.
Jaipul had been slated to go back to Canada in May.
We say sorry, but this video has failed to load.
On Friday, polices announced they had actually apprehended “Brickhead,” his bro and mom, who was among the maid’s at the grandfather’s estate.
Likewise in custody was the other house maid who worked for Jaipul’s grandfather for more than 10 years.
Jaipul is the 2nd Canadian person killed in Guyana in the last eight months.
In December 2019, Vivekanand Narpatty, 71, of Toronto, and his handyman were murdered. Their decomposing bodies were discovered at the now-defunct Sun Splash Hotel in Corentyne.
Narpatty had actually intended to refurbish his dream resort but his efforts ended in tears.
