” At such a time, what we require most in our lives is to reveal love and to show care. This gesture is the final act of solidarity in the life of a lady who devoted her life to the cause of her fellow South Africans.

” Zindzi has actually departed this life but her legacy will reside on in our minds and in our hearts.”

Born in 1960 to a couple at the leading edge of the fight versus apartheid, Ramaphosa stated Zindzi grew up to be a bold freedom fighter in her own right.

He stated she would be fondly kept in mind for the bold way in which she read out a well-known letter at a rally in Soweto in 1985 from her then locked up dad, turning down a deal of conditional release by previous apartheid president PW Botha.

” It was at this very moment that Zindzi’s nerve, bravery and leadership talents were shown for all to see,” stated Ramaphosa.

” She caught the hearts and the minds of all freedom-loving South Africans as the message was transmitted to the world. Through her reading of Madiba’s letter, the expression and her defiant posture fired up the people of our nation.

” As a girls, she encouraged our people to happen with the fight against the oppressors. She actually fired up all us– not only those people who were in that arena, however she fired up the whole country.”

Zindzi is due to be put to rest on Friday in Fourways, north of Johannesburg, next to her mom.
