The 8 IPL franchises are eagerly waiting on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) from the BCCI to combat the coronavirus (Covid-19) risk and it is set to be a major subject of discussion when the occasion’s Governing Council satisfies in a few days’ time.

” There will be three principal points on the program which will mostly be discussed as and when the GC satisfies,” a senior BCCI official told news company PTI on conditions of anonymity.
The primary points are as follows:
1) Moving to UAE, dates, places, matches:
Once they get the necessary approvals from federal government departments, the BCCI will notify ECB (Emirates Cricket Board).
” As far as I understand, they are not reducing the competition. We will have all the 60 matches in the old format where groups play 14 games,” a senior authorities of among the popular franchise said.
The duration of the tournament will be between 44 to 48 days depending on the double headers that the BCCI allots. In the original schedule, there were only 5 double headers slotted on Sundays.
2) SOP for teams, bio-bubble, training facilities:
There are three premises available in the UAE– Dubai International Stadium, Sheikh Zayed Stadium (Abu Dhabi) and the Sharjah ground.
It is discovered that the BCCI will be renting the premises of the ICC Academy for training of the groups.
The ICC Academy has two full-sized cricket grounds in addition to 38 grass pitches, 6 indoor pitches, a 5700 square foot outdoor conditioning area along with physiotherapy and medication centre.
” The teams that will be stationed in Dubai can practice at the ICC Academy by paying a cost,” the senior authorities said.
The groups staying in Abu Dhabi (one and half hours from Dubai) can train there.
There won’t be a lot of net bowlers allowed in case teams have enough additional gamers in the squad.
In Dubai, based on the present health procedure, if people are bring an unfavorable Covid-19 test report, there will not be any need for quarantine however if they are not, they will need to undergo a test.
There is DXB app (comparable to Arogya Setu) in India which players and authorities need to download.
While it is not possible to produce a bio-bubble that England developed for the visiting West Indies team making hotels (Hilton Group) part of the arena premises in Southampton and Old Trafford, the procedures will be strict.
