There’s no scarcity of regional, state, and nationwide helplines that provide support to individuals throughout psychological or psychological health crises. The problem is that they’ve not been easily accessible in one searchable database, which means it might take callers or texters reaching out for assistance longer to find the resources they require.

A brand-new website launched Tuesday by the Pandemic Crisis Solutions Coalition intends to change that. Its objective is to make mental health support a click away for individuals who are fighting with their emotional and psychological wellbeing during the coronavirus pandemic.

” The capability to gain access to psychological health crisis services is critical at this time, yet COVID-19 is impacting the typical methods individuals get assistance in a crisis,” Travis Atkinson, president of the Crisis Residential Association and co-chair of the American Association of Suicidology’s Crisis Providers Committee, said in a statement.

Atkinson kept in mind that emergency rooms, where patients might look for care for self-destructive thinking and habits or a panic attack, are focused on treating COVID-19 patients.

The new website debuted with a database of crisis services searchable by state, contact method, assistance type, subjects, and categories.

The database consists of contact details for hundreds of helplines and recreation center, whose volunteers and staff are trained to connect callers with regional psychological health providers and resources. The website also consists of articles on managing the impacts of COVID-19, tips for how to help a liked one, and information specifically for frontline employees who want mental health assistance.

The Pandemic Crisis Services Coalition is a group of global mental health organizations that united in March in order to create the site. Its members include Crisis Text Line, the American Association of Suicidology, The Trevor Project, and the National Suicide Avoidance Lifeline.

If you wish to talk to somebody or are experiencing psychological distress, you can contact the Catastrophe Distress Helpline by calling 1-800-985-5990 or texting TalkWithUs to66746 The helpline, which is operated by the Drug abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, specializes in assisting people who are experiencing emotional distress associated to any natural or human-caused disaster.
