Sky News host Chris Kenny says a “especially troubling” situation emerged in Sydney over the weekend when a protester participated in “the height of recklessness” by bringing her young child to a coronavirus presentation.
Over the weekend, Renee Altakrity brought her four-year-old child to a Sydney event objecting the government’s strict COVID-19 lockdown steps.
Ms Altakrity was subsequently apprehended and fined before becoming re-united with her boy.
Mr Kenny stated he discovered the episode “quite horrible”.
He said it’s clear the authorities “were acting within the law” however the problem “is that police are being required to carry out quite onerous laws, a lot to the lockdown guidelines have been over the leading”.
He did say “the main issue here is the mother”.
