There seems to be a great deal of confusion in the bead versus aerosol discussion and how these associate with the spread of COVID-19 Is it airborne and inhaled or droplet based by means of fomites and hands? The unpleasant reality is that we have proof for both modes.
In this video we first define what a droplet and an aerosol is based upon their behaviour in the environment. We then take a look at both through the findings from 2 published research studies. We will also talk about for how long viral particles make it through and stay practical and able to contaminate after they fall on a surface area or get suspended in the air.
For COVID-19, we agree that the numerous transmission routes may predominate in different settings. The airborne path matters for health centers and medical facility staff in addition to crowded and badly aerated public spaces. Everybody else is more likely to get the virus through touching surface areas, bad hand health and after that touching their face.
